When I’m Sixty-Four • Evergreen appeal

3 of a Kind • How far can you get in a long weekend? How many interesting areas, with appropriately epic riding roads, can you cover? And, with three models from one brand all based on the same engine and chassis combination, just how different can they be over a couple of thousand miles?

Come On Feel the Noise! A Quick Guide to Intercoms. • They say communication is key, and it’s definitely something that we can’t live without. Would Marconi and Bell, the iconic inventors of the wireless and telephone in the late 1800s imagine what they started?

Slimline TONIC • The contentious aesthetics are ably outweighed by the brutal acceleration, but at what price of practicality?

BACK IN THE DAY...

Are you EXPERIENCED? • Advanced riding splits opinion. Some swear by it, others worry that it takes the fun out of riding. We talked to Mark Jaffe from Phoenix Motorcycle Training to settle the argument…

Legal Eagle • Our motorcycling man of law answers questions big and small

Indian UPRISING • The latest new marque to hit Britain is India’s Hero with this, the Hunk 440. It may be a little bike but it’s big news…

Better is better • Since when was being warm a bad thing?

Ride across Britain from Eccleston to Whitby • This trip was inspired by the entry in Colette Coleman’s book “Great Motorcycle Journeys of the World”; it starts at Kendal in the English Lake District and winds its way eastwards for 200 miles through the Yorkshire Dales and the North York Moors to Whitby on the east coast.

Coast To Coast The Long Way Across Part 2 • When we left Elk City we had 80 miles to Amarillo (insert your own song title here), and I was listening to Fleetwood Mac on the radio playing Don’t Stop and Go Your Own Way, so we followed that advice to the evening’s accommodation. On arrival in the city we stopped at a coffee bar where Chris asked the barista where the best steak house was, given we were in Texas he wanted a great steak. The rather grumpy barista couldn’t help as he was a veggie, typical!

Test fleet: Honda CMX1100 • Stolen Moments

Test fleet: Suzuki GSX-8TT • Just popping out… Matt just has to go for a ride

Test fleet: Honda NT1100 DCT ES • It’s not been the best start to the year. Continued poor weather, a flat battery, and new parts delivery issues keep the mood and mileage lower. But a lovely run out to the coast and a free clean soon restore happiness!
